May is the gateway from spring into summer. Everything is blooming, the world is coming to life, the smell of blooming flowers scent the air. All the birds and animals are frolicking, the feeling of winter has been shed and it’s time to let light in. It’s the perfect time to stop taking things too seriously, to admire the small things, and enjoy the pleasures of the outdoors.
The Thursday Next Series by Jasper Fforde
I’ve read (most) of this series once already, so it might be a little odd for me to place them all back on my May reading list. Well, I’ve been a terrible fan and haven’t read the latest of the series, The Woman Who Died A Lot, which was released in 2012!! What is wrong with me?
With this being the case, it seemed best to remind myself of the whole series, after finally acquiring this latest in the series. I’m committing the month of May to re-reading, and finally reading, the series. It seemed like the perfect month for this. The series is light and funny and interesting, and the brightness of May feels like the ideal setting
Indie Read Of The Month
The Crimson Inkwell by Kenneth A. Baldwin
Striving to be a top-notch journalist, one woman is offered a gift, from a creepy carnival worker no less, that turns fiction to fact. Will she be able to control the power of that gift, and her own desires? I’m super intrigued to find out more about this story!
